Hey everybody, Ryan here at Etrailer. Today on our 2015 Ram 1500, we're gonna be showing you how to install the Firestone air helper springs for the rear axle. Before we do that though, let's take a minute, check 'em out and make sure they're gonna be right for you. So what we'll do is give ya a real life example on how these springs can help eliminate sag, and the truck squatting down in the back, so, right now we're backed up to a camper, don't have any weight on it or anything, but we're ready to go more or less. And just outta curiosity, see where our truck's sitting at the factory ride height. And from the ground to the bottom edge of our wheel well, that's right at 40 inches. more

Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System Installation - 2020 Ram 1500- Video
Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we have a 2020 Ram 1500 and we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you how to install the Timbren SES rear suspension enhancement system. Now, when it comes to rear enhancement suspension systems, you're gonna have a couple of different options. First off, it's gonna be your least aggressive option, which will be like a set of Sumo Springs. They're essentially going to be a softer foam like Timbren or a jounce-style bumper. Next up is going to be your Timbrens, which is a more aggressive version of a jounce bumper made out of a harder rubber, designed to support heavier loads. more

So why airbags Well, today's trucks can handle a lot of weight. And you can do a lot with them even though this is a half ton pickup, they get the job done you usually have a lot of power and they're great for hauling boats, trailers, loads in the back, everything else, and they are coil spring in the back, which means they're gonna squat a little bit. If you do this often or if you have different items like a boat that weighs a certain amount or a camper that weighs a different amount these bags are adjustable and what they're gonna do is they're gonna bring your stock ride height back to level. more

So right now we have a factory suspension on our truck and put in some weight in the bed of it and we're gonna go on our test course and see how it feels. So just to kinda get a good comparison at least and see how it feels to me, I'm just gonna drive around, truck unloaded and everything, see how it feels, and then once we get the bags on, we can at least go for a spin again and see if it really makes a difference. more

Today's trucks have definitely gotten more comfortable as far as riding in them. And the Dodge suspension is very interesting in the fact that there's no leaf springs, and a lot of trucks are slowly going towards that. And it still has a lot of payload, and you can load this bed up, and really use it as a truck still. But sometimes, that suspension kind of gets to the point where it's doing the best it can, it's just kind of maxed out. more

Hello, neighbors. It's Brad here at etrailer. And today, we're taking a look at the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 rear helper springs on a 2017 Ram 1500. Truck suspension is generally set up to handle pretty heavy loads, whether you be towing or having payload in the bed. Now, sometimes that suspension squats down, and that's gonna cause some really not favorable conditions when driving, which can mean either bad steering or a lack of steering feel, reduced braking, and overall wear on the suspension components of the vehicle. And partly, that's because the vehicle squats down, the front picks up, and you do lose that traction on the front, and it's just overworking the suspension generally on the rear. more

Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Plus Air Springs Install - 2011 Ram 1500- Video
Hi there Ram owners, today in your 2011 Ram 1500, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Air Lift's LoadLifter 5000 Airbags. This is what our airbags look like when they're installed. They install between the axle and the frame of the vehicle, and they have internal jounce bumpers inside them, since we do remove the factory jounce bumper. Also don't we just remove the factory jounce bumper, but the entire jounce bumper mounting. It's nice that these have that internal jounce bumper for when we're running in conditions maybe where we're unloaded and or we just have a minor load and we've got just a little bit of air in the bags. In the event that we do bottom out, we have that bumper in there to ensure that we don't have any contact and causing damage to our suspension components.These bags are going to allow you to inflate each side independently as well. more

Before we begin our installation, we're going to take some baseline measurements so we can see the difference of how our truck is going to perform when it's loaded, without any suspension enhancements and with it loaded with our new Timbren suspension enhancement. So currently, we've got it unloaded so we can get a baseline of what it's completely stock. And we're at about 39 and a half inches right now. And here in the front, we're sitting at right at about 38 and three quarter. We're now going to take about a 1000 pounds of water, and we're going to place it in the back of the truck and recheck our measurements to see what it's like loaded up. more

Right now we do not have our Timbrens installed and we don't have any weight in the bed of the truck. Let's go ahead and see where our ride height is. Here at the back of the truck from the ground, the edge of the wheel well is going to be 39 and one quarter of an inch. And here at the front of the truck, if you take that same measurement from the ground to the wheel well, it's going to be 36 and a half inches. more

Now, before we install our air bags, what we're going to do is take a few measurements with the truck unloaded. That way, we know how high it's sitting. And after we put some weight in the bed of our truck with our air bags installed, we're going to know how much to inflate them to achieve that same factory ride height. From the ground to the edge of our wheel well, that's right at 36 inches. And here at the rear from the ground to the edge of the wheel well, it's about 38 and a half inches.Now, we went ahead and put a considerable amount of weight in the bed of our truck. more

We do currently have our suspension hanging so you can see them better. Speaker 1: Today on this 2017 Ram 1500, we're going to review and install the Timbren rear suspension enhancement system, part number TDRTT1500.This is what the Aeon Timbren spring looks like when it's installed in our truck. Now you can see it fits into a factory fitting right here, and it's almost an instant upgrade to your truck.Now sitting on here you'll notice that it has a gap right here. The idea here is that when you're driving down a road with an unloaded truck, you can travel freely before it hits the spring here. Then when you do load your truck up, then the spring starts to work as needed.Now everybody knows that 1500-series trucks ride great going down the road; however, everybody else knows is that when you're loading your truck and you want to use your truck like a truck, a lot of time the truck is going to sag down the back and it's going to affect performance and handling. So this way it's a good easy way to improve that.So when you use your truck like a truck, what's going to happen is this is going to make contact here. Speaker 1: Today on our 2012 RAM 1500 we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Firestone coil to air spring conversion kit for the rear axle, part number F2595.To begin your installation, what you're going to want to do is you're going to want to get measurements on the back and the front for normal ride heights. Now we've gone ahead and done that and you can see here we've added approximately 1,000 pounds. And what it's done to the back end of the vehicle is its dropped it three inches. It's also raised the front end about a quarter of an inch. What that's going to do is it's going to add unnecessary wear and tear on the tires and pressure on the suspension.In front of the vehicle, it's going to affect your steering and handling and overall affect your braking. So now with our load back in our truck, our airbags installed, we're able to get not quite the normal ride height or the factory ride height but we are within a half inch to level with the front end. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2015 Ram 1500, you're going to be taking a look at and I'm going to show you how to install the Air Lift AirLift 1000 Air Helper Springs for Coil Springs for the rear, part number AL60818.The reason we want air bags, when we have weight in the back of our truck without the air bags, it lowers our back end. It's going to raise the front end. What that's going to do, it's going to bring our headlights up, it's going to put unnecessary wear and tear on our tires, it's going to make our steering really light, and it's going to affect our braking. With our airbags, where going to be able to bring that right height back up to normal, with weight on it, bring our headlights down, change our steering back to normal, along with our braking, and it's going to change the way our tires wear.This is what our polyurethane bags look like when they're installed. These are going to give you 1,000 low-leveling support. You're going to have a max psi of 35 lbs, and you want no less than 5 psi while traveling with the bags. more

They're also going to have a capacity of 5 to 100 PSI. These bags also allow you to increase or decrease air in each bag separately for uneven loads.As you can see here, we have about 1500 pounds loaded in the back of our truck. Now, this is on the stock suspension. You can see it lowered us almost four inches. What this is going to do is this is going to put a lot of unnecessary wear and tear on your suspension, but also unnecessary wear and tear on your tires. more

Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System Installation - 2016 Ram 1500 TDR1500DQ- Video
Robert C.: Today on our 2016 RAM 1500, we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System, part number TDR1500DQ. Now these springs are going to be great for when you're hauling heavy loads. It's going to take some of the sag out of the vehicle, but at the same time, when you're not hauling anything, it'll still ride smooth, just like from the factory. You can definitely see the size difference between our factory spring and our new Timbren spring. The main difference of how it's going to work is that this is going to come in contact with the axle whenever you have a heavy load. What that is going to do is provide a cushion and act as a shock absorber, and actually get more rigid with the more weight you have. Whereas the factory bump stop is really just there so that the frame doesn't make contact. Now the left and right spring are going to work independently from each other, helping out with swing, body roll, and in case of a sharp maneuver if you have to swerve to get out of the way. In conclusion, these springs are going to become an active part of your suspension, and they're going to help reduce the wear and tear over time. Now before we begin our installation, I want to get a few measurements. The truck unloaded factory height is going to be just a little bit over 39" right here at the top of the wheel well. more

Today on our 2010 Ram 1500, we'll be having a look at and installing the Air Lift Low Lifter 5000 Air Helper Springs for the rear axle, part number AL57365. All right, here's what our airbags look like installed. They're a direct replacement for the factory bump stops. These airbags will give our vehicle 5000 pounds of low leveling support. They won't allow us to put an additional 5000 pounds of weight in the bed of truck or tow an additional 5000 pounds of weight behind us on our trailer. This will make your vehicle drive more like stock when you're having a heavy load in it or towing a heavy trailer. These bags are designed to work with between 5 pounds of air pressure all the way up to a 100 pounds of air pressure. more

Air Lift LoadLifter Air Helper Springs Installation - 2013 Ram 1500- Video
Today in our 2013 RAM 1500 we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Springs, part number AL57365. We're going to go ahead and take some measurements of the vehicle at stock right height. The rear of about 40 and 1/2 and the front we're at about 37 and 1/4. We're going to go ahead and put about 1,400 pounds in the back and we'll get some measurements there before we put our airbags into place. We've loaded our vehicle down to about 36 and 1/2 in the rear and about 37 and 3/4, it came up, in the front. Now with our load back in there at about 25 pounds of air in our bags, we're back at 40 and 1/4, right about 1/4 of an inch of where we started from when there was nothing in the truck to start with. We're at 37 and 1/2 and we started from stock at 37 and 1/4, so we came up about 1/4 in the front. more

Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System Installation - 2013 Ram 1500 TDR1500DQ- Video
Today on this 2013 Ram 1500 crew cab, we're going to show you part number TDR1500DQ. This is the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System. This is what the suspension enhancement looks like when it's installed in a truck. Now, with this part number, you get two Aeon Hollow Rubber springs. What this does basically, it replaces the factory bump stop which was originally located in the same spot. What this does is it actually reaches down, closer to the axle and it starts working when you put a load in your truck. Typically, you have an inch of clearance from your axle and the bottom of the rubber spring, so your truck will ride normally before you put a load into it. more

Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System Installation - 2014 Ram 1500- Video
Today on our 2014 Ram 1500 Crew Cab 4x4 we're going to be installing the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System, part number TDR1500DQ. With the new Timbren installed here on the driver side you'll notice that there's maybe 1-1/2" or so from the bottom of the Timbren to the top plate here on the axle. Now over here on the passenger side with the factory bump stops still in place we have just under 3-1/2" from the bottom of the bump stop to the top of the plate here. By having the shorter distance it will help provide the additional support you need when carrying or towing a heavy load, yet it will still give you a nice smooth, comfortable ride. Now we're going to begin here underneath the vehicle. We're going to be removing the factory bump stops, so it's this yellow piece right here - we're on the driver side - as well as this piece over here. Right here is the passenger side. more
